I want everyone to know what a dear man Jim was. I worked next door to him for 20 years and he always had a hello, how are you, do you need anything. We have missed him since his retirement. And will truly miss him now. He was a fine and caring person.

We remember when Jim came to Lexington to practice law with Senator Banny Jones; later with Jones, Long, Barfield, and Bauknight. As time went by, they sent their children to the Little Red Schoolhouse. Jim was a model lawyer and consummate citizen leader.

Oh what a special man Jim was! My special memories come from showing Tennessee Walking Horses with Jim and his family. We became very close friends as we rode at the barn at Rae Martin Stables and traveled to horse shows across SC, NC, Ga, and Tennessee. Linda and her children were so close to me and my children. Memories of Wade and John having King of the Hill encounters, sleepovers after horse shows, and just the wonderful friendship Linda and I shared. Time has slipped by, and I have not talked with she or Jim in a few years. My heart goes out to Linda, Elizabeth, Margaret, and John. Praying for the comfort and strength that only comes from our Lord and Savior.

Mr. B was a special person to my family. So many good, precious memories. I treasure our last phone conversation where I enjoyed that unique laugh. May he rest in peace. My heart breaks for Linda and the children.

Jim and Linda were great friends. For years, my wife and I rode to the Carolina football games in Jim's RV, and he always managed to find a parking place in the farmers' market across from Williams-Brice Stadium. Jim was kind, generous, and loved to laugh. I mourn his passing. He was a good man.
