Mr. Sheorn died Wednesday, June 4, 2008. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late James Duncan Sheorn Sr. and Selma McCaskill Sheorn. Mr. Sheorn had retired from the DuPont Company after 33 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Camden and had served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was also a member of the James LeRoy Belk Post 17 American Legion and VFW Post 5928.
Mr. Sheorn was first married to the late Betty Harvin Sheorn and second to Margaret “Margie” Grantham Sheorn.
Surviving are a daughter, Jeanita Sheorn Davy (Thomas), of Pawley’s Island; son, James “Rusty” Sheorn III, of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Ashley Davy, Sally LaValley, Ryan Sheorn, Sarah Sheorn and Nevin Sheorn; great-grandchildren, Chase Sheorn, Austin LaValley, Alex Davy and Ashton Davy; brother, Eugene Sheorn of Lake Wateree.
