Mr. Sulton,
Your sacrifices, courage, and determination have not gone unnoticed. You have fought a long, hard fight and now you are receiving your great reward. We are a loyal son and daughter of SCSU and because of your efforts and the efforts of many others, we were able to grasp opportunities that may have been out of our reach.
With great admiration and respect,

I have such fond memories of Mr. and Mrs. Sulton. They were such a nice and thoughtful couple. Mr. Sulton was a pioneer on so many levels-especially in Orangeburg and he will be missed. He always had the most interesting stories to tell! May God contine to be a source of strength for Mrs. Ruby, and the Sulton, Thommason and Pequette families as they think of and miss Mr. Jim.

I installed Vinyl siding on Mr. Sulton's home in the 80's. I had no idea who this man was or any of his accomplishments. I had a Great deal of respect for him from the very moment that I met him. Although he had contracted me to install the siding, shutters, etc. He refused to let me do all of the work. He got on a ladder and installed the shutters himself as I done other work. I can remember just talking to him, how educated, intelligent and sincere this man was. I'm sure that he will be missed by many, many, people.

There are two things a person can take with them beyond this mortal life, a good name within their community and a reputation for integrity. This is certainly true of Mr. Sulton. May his soul find repose and may God's grace sustain his family and friends during this time of sorrow.
With deepest sympathy,
The Hamilton & Pequette families
