Janis Parker Obituary

Janis Reigh Parker CONWAY - Janis Reigh Parker, 92, of Jessica Lakes Drive, formerly of Gilbert, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at her residence. Mrs. Parker was born in Columbus, OH, a daughter of the late Elmer Emil and Ora Brenaman Mosiman. She was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Lexington, SC. Mrs. Parker was also a member of the Cub Scouting Family for over 50 years. She was a substitute teacher in Loudoun County, VA for many years. Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her 1st husband, David F. Butcher, II and her second husband, Alan Ira Parker. Surviving are three sons, David F. Butcher, III of Sterling, VA, John E. Butcher (Martha) of Syracuse, NY and Don H. Butcher (Yvonne) of Conway; five grandchildren, Jennifer Butcher, Janis Montgomery (Joel), Sherry Eugene (Anthony), Joshua Butcher and Dakota Butcher, one great-grandchild, Caleb Montgomery, and two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Moyer of Venice, FL, and Ellen Palmer (Charles) of Canton, PA. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Lexington, SC with the Rev. L. Howard Maltby officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home and from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM Saturday at the church. Memorials may be sent to the Memorial Fund for Janis Parker, 1360 Hwy. 501, Conway, SC 29526. Sign a guestbook at www.goldfinchfuneralhome.com.
