Swansea, South Carolina - Jerry Louis Eddins, 73, of Swansea, SC, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023. He was the husband of Alecia Estridge Eddins.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Jerry was born in Jacksonville, FL, a son of the late Walter Louis Eddins and Pencie Louise Davis Eddins. He was a graduate of Pelion High School and Midlands Technical College. In early years, Jerry taught electrical courses for Midlands Technical College students. He was the owner, Master Electrician, and electrical contractor for Eddins Electric Company. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in West Columbia. Jerry enjoyed many adventures in life including aviation, go-kart racing, and collecting unique vehicles. Jerry was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed his time on his ranch in Texas and farms in South Carolina. Jerry loved his bird dogs and rabbit dogs. Nothing pleased him more than watching the dogs hunt and telling everyone the stories of his adventures.

In addition to his wife of fifty-two years, Jerry is survived by his son, Jason L. Eddins (Laurel) of Elloree; one brother, Gene Eddins of Lexington; one sister, Gayle Dodson (Joe) of Wagner; two grandchildren both of which he adored, Greyson L. Eddins (Harlie Anne) and Jana L. Eddins, both of Elloree; and a number of nieces and nephews.
