Dr. Joann Boyd-Scotland was a wonderful educational leader, a hard worker, and a strong woman with Christian values who put this into practice. She helped to build me as an employee of Denmark Technical College and I am greatly appreciative. I have only learned today of her passing but I have thought of her many times through the years with fond memories. The best thing she did for me was when I was at a crossroads in my life and she wanted me to come back to work for her. I shared my problems with her and she said, "Cindy, you need to pray." God sent a woman that I respected and loved so that I would listen. And, I did what she said. I prayed, "Jesus, please help me." And the Lord did. He put my broken life back together and I eventually went on to work in the nursing field and went on missions trips throughout Africa and Asia. I remember when, years later, I told her what she had done for me, and she smiled and said, basically, "What? You are going to tell people that!" And, yes, so I am. God bless you, Dr. Boyd-Scotland and the many people you helped, including me.
