Mr. Ehrenclou, husband of Marjorie Ehrenclou died Friday, August 6, 2010. Born July 4, 1930 in New York he was the son of the late Cora Morris Ehrenclou, MD and Alfred H. Ehrenclou, MD of New York and Camden. He graduated from Princeton University in 1951with an AB in Economics and from Harvard Law School in 1956. Mr. Ehrenclou served as First Lieutenant in the 82nd Airborne Division, 1951-1955 and was a retired Lt. Colonel JAGC in the US Army Reserve. His professional career included: Associate, Pitney, Hardin & Kip, Attorneys, Newark, NJ 1956-1959; General Partner, Gude Wimmill & Co. and Prescott Ball & Turber, New York, NY, Member of the New York, stock exchange 1959-1975; Associate, John K. DeLoach, attorney, Camden, SC 1975-1979; first ever Public Defender of Kershaw County 1979-1983; City Attorney of Camden, SC 1983-1987, Private Law Practice 1983-1987. After retiring from the practice of law in 1987 he resided in Columbia, SC. He served as a member of the Board of Directors, Peapack-Gladstone Bank, NJ 1963-1975; Member and Chairman of the Board, Kershaw County Council on Aging 1978-1984, Member Kershaw County Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse 1981-1987; President Kershaw County Bar Association 1982-1983; Member, Board of Directors of Legal Services, Fourth Judicial Circuit 1980-1988 and Chairman of the Board 1987-1988.
Mr. Ehrenclou is survived by his beloved wife, Marjorie Alterman Ehrenclou of Columbia; daughter, Lynn Blagden (Crawford) of Shoreham, Vermont; sons, John Winston Ehrenclou (Cyndy) of Peapack, NJ; James Harding Ehrenclou (Martine) of Los Angeles, Ca; Jesse O. Ehrenclou, Md (Jill), of Lexington, SC,
W. Hennen Ehrenclou,of Atlanta, Ga. William Morris Ehrenclou,of Knoxville, TN; brother, Alfred Ehrenclou (Veronika); sisters, Jessie Browne of Trappe, Md and Alice Poole (Alan) of Ct.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson; step-daughters, Laurie Lyn David of Summerville and Carol M. David of Columbia. John was compassionate and kind. He was a loving husband and father. He adored his children and his many rescued dogs over the years. John also loved his two puppies, Honey and Brandy. He will be greatly missed.
