John David James Geddings CHAPIN A Celebration of Life service for John David Geddings, 64, of Chapin, will be held at the Gazebo at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, 3:30 PM, on Tuesday, March 15, 2016. The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. following the service at the Gazebo. Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family. John passed away at his residence on February 29, 2016. Born in Winnsboro, he was a son of the late Condy Leon and Annie Lou Foxworth Geddings, his adoptive parents. He was the owner of Fat Buddies Restaurants in Columbia and Chapin for many years. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. He will be missed by his legions of customers and his many "adopted children". He is survived by his loving children; sons, Joshua David Geddings of Chapin; Christopher John Geddings of Irmo; daughter, Jennifer Lynn Geddings of Chapin; granddaughter, Lia Nicole Geddings; sister, Robbie James of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; brother, Bill James of Chapin, and a large and loving extended family which includes many friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his birth mother, Ravenell Fetner, and sister, Connie Pate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
