Karen Hahn Vichich Obituary

Karen Hahn Vichich
November 11, 1978 - October 5, 2021
St. Petersburg, Florida - Karen Hahn Vichich, 42, of St. Petersburg, Florida, died on October 5, 2021 in Tampa, Florida. She was born on November 11, 1978 in Columbia, SC and raised in Chapin, SC. She graduated from Chapin High School in 1997 and Eckerd College, St. Petersburg, in 2001, with a B.A. in Psychology. After college, Karen excelled in her work as a beauty consultant at Saks Fifth Avenue and with Fresh Fragrances.
Karen is most remembered for her beautiful smile, zest for life, warrior strength, and dedication to her children, Vanessa (13) and Finn (9). When she saw her children and spent time with them, you could feel pure joy radiating from her. Music, yoga, water sports, and sunning by the pool or oceanside were her favorite pastimes.
Karen's family, friends, and all she touched mourn her loss; yet we also celebrate. We celebrate because Karen loved God; she loved her family and friends; she is no longer suffering; and her spiritual body is victorious over death.
Karen is predeceased by her grandparents, Ernest and Glendys Case and Frank and Mary Hahn.
Karen is survived by her children, Vanessa and Finn Vichich; mother, Valerie Hahn, Hendersonville,NC; father, Paul Hahn, Beaufort, SC; brother, Adam (Elissa) Hahn and children, Greta, Cecilia, Liliana, and Jack; and sister, Anne Carlson and her son, Luke. She is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of life memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to plant a tree in Karen's honor.

To Vanessa and Finn,
I´m so very sorry about your mommy. Please know when we talked, she lit up like a Christmas tree when she talked about the two of you. The two of you were the two people she was proudest of and she loved you with every millimeter of her heart, body and soul. You both made her proud, happy, laugh, and made her life richer because you were in it. The two of you were her heroes. Please always know she is watching over you and in your heart.

My overwhelming memory of Karen (growing up at Our Lady of the Lake and Chapin schools) is just how kind she always was, to everyone. She was a truly beautiful soul. I am so sad to hear about her passing. Sending you all love and sympathy and prayers for comfort.

I will always remember Karen as such a sweet smiling beautiful girl in high school. She was creative and a friend to all. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

RIP Karen. It's not fair the cards you were dealt with your illness but I know you're no longer in pain and walking around on your own again. I'm glad I got to see her one time when she was in the hospital here in Columbia.
