Columbia, South Carolina - A funeral service for Mary Margaret VanderWall Browning, 79, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2022 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Browning died Monday, August 1, 2022. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas VanderWall and Myrtle Wilson VanderWall. Mary was of Dutch descent. She was a member of Shandon United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Upper Room Sunday School Class. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
Surviving are her husband of 64 years, W. Lewis Browning; her children, Sheryl Ann Williams of Columbia, SC, William Lewis Browning, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Nicholas VanderWall Browning (Cindy) of Akron, Ohio, and Robert Bernard Browning (Anne) of Salem, OR; grandchildren, Jason George Williams (Megan Dean), Sara Browning Ball (Michael Martin), William Lewis Browning III, Laura Marie Harre (Chris), Haley Browning, Emily Browning, Jacob Browning (Selina), and Kristin Chaurtize (Justin Coonce); great-grandchildren, Renan Lewis Williams, Cas Browning Williams, Bailee Browning Ball, Jaxon Martin Ball, Gunner Rowan Ball, Loralie Harre, Gwendolyn Harre, and Lily Coonce; and sister, Gaynelle Fetner.
