Columbia, South Carolina - Mr. Michael Renard Goins was born on December 23, 1976 in Columbia, South Carolina. He was the beloved son of Michael Randolph Goins and Cynthia Spigner and the cherished husband of Fermena Lissandra Goins. Michael passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Thursday, August 19, 2021 in Columbia, SC.
Michael was educated in the Richland County public school system and graduated from Spring Valley High School. He received multiple awards for his academics and extracurricular activities, including wrestling and JROTC. His excellence in JROTC allowed him to enter the United States Air Force with rank and he served as Military Police for four years. During his military career he enjoyed travelling all over the world and his adventures even included dining with an Arabian Prince. After his excellent military service, Michael became owner and operator of an 18-wheeler truck. He traveled all over the US, Canada, and Mexico, making many new friends along the way. He began his IT career at GIS, in Chapin, where he worked for a few years before joining Lexington Medical Center.
Michael leaves behind a loving wife, Fermena Lissandra Goins, stepson, Kevin Caldwell, stepdaughters, Monica Caldwell and Sonia Caldwell, mother, Cynthia Spigner, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many more loved family and friends.
Public Viewing will be held Thursday, August 26, 2-5 pm at the funeral home. A homegoing celebration will be held Friday, August 27, 11:00am at Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home.

Mike was such a beautiful person. As a small child he would work hard always doing something. I will always keep him in my heart. He was a gentlemen. His soul is in God's hands. Well done thy faithful servant. Until we meet again.
