Minnie Singleton Obituary

ROCK HILL — Minnie Copeland Singleton, 95, died Saturday, December 26, 2009 in a local nursing home after an illness.
 
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at the Chapel of Waters-Powell Funeral Home in Florence with interment following in Florence National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
 
Mrs. Singleton was born in Pamplico, a daughter of the late James Claude and Annie Belle Coleman Copeland. She was married to the late Randall D. Singleton. Mrs. Singleton was a retired retail clerk and a member of First Baptist Church of Florence and the Fidelity Sunday School Class of the church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she was Past Worthy Matron.
 
Surviving are two stepsons, Steven O. (Jan) Singleton of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Herbert A. (Katrina) Singleton of Lugoff; four stepgrandchildren, Angie Singleton (Bennett) Kornig, Beth Singleton (Michael) York, Stacey (Erin) Jones, Joseph Singleton, and Tyler Singleton; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Audrey C. Garrison of Aiken; and a brother, Howard Milton Copeland of Chesapeake, Virginia.
 
Mrs. Singleton was preceded in death by two brothers, J. Earl Copeland and James Claude Copeland, Jr.; and a sister, Wilma C. Campbell.
