Mitchell Young Jr. COLUMBIA - Mr. Mitchell Young, Jr. was born October 5, 1962, in Columbia, SC. He was a son of Fannie Mae Montgomery. He departed this life on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, in Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC. Mitch, as he was affectionately called, graduated from Lower Richland High School. He was employed at Cheatham Animal Clinic and also worked as a carpenter. At an early age, Mitch was baptized and attended Friendship Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Mitchell Young, Sr., and brother, Alphonso Young. Those left to cherish his memories are his mother, Fannie Mae Montgomery; brothers, Anthony Young, Kevin Young; sister, Estelle Scott; nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, and other relatives and friends. Homegoing service will take place Tuesday, November 29, 2016, 1:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, 2604 Lower Richland Blvd., Hopkins, SC, with burial in the church cemetery.
