I will remember many things about Buddy, but the one thing that sticks out is how sweet and humble he was. Our Thanksgiving dinner will forever bring you to my mind and the talks that we had every year. My heart is heavy but I know Buddy is in a better place and in a new body and my hope is that he and Dennis are having a blast!!

Buddy will be missed. I have many fond memories working with him over the years at DHEC. I loved hearing his stories of trips with Lynn to Disney. I recall how excited he was about his motorcycle. I can't think of Vital Satistics without thinking of Buddy. I considered Buddy a colleague and a friend. My sincere condolences to his family.

I am deeply saddened by the news of Buddy's death. He was an essential leader in the commitment to protect the public's health using sound data and science. And he did that work with integrity and warmth and grace. His loss is felt by those of us who were colleagues and friends and by the larger public health community. Rest in peace.

To the Family of Buddy as we affectionally called Mr. Hudson. He was indeed a Mentor. We had such memorable conversations during breaks daily. His personality always left a smile on my face. He will truly be missed. Prayer going up, blessings shall come down. RIP my Friend

Dear Lynn and Family,
We are so sorry at the loss of Buddy. We are sending our love to each of you. Buddy was always my favorite cousin. We were the same age and grew up just 4 houses apart. We did everything together. We spent our vacations together at Folly, camped together with our parents and grandparents, rode our bikes, played ball....everything. We had a wonderful childhood. Buddy was such a caring cousin. I will miss you so much Buddy. You have a huge piece of my heart, but I am comforted by knowing that I will see you in your new Home in Heaven one day. I D and I will be praying for all of the family. May God comfort each of you. We love you all. Mary & ID Hook

I remember the years that Buddy and I worked to serve the public. He was my loyal friend and supporter of my work as coroner of Richland County. We made each other's responsibilities much easier. Buddy was always so positive and caring. His personality was like a bright light even in unpleasant circumstances. Now, those who love him are in my thoughts and prayers.
