Mr. Riddick, lovingly referred to by his family as 'Pops,' died Saturday, May 22, 2010. Born in Hamlet, N.C., he was the son of the late John Gatling and Connie Moss Riddick. He spent his young adult life in Greenwood, where he developed his lifelong love of all sports while participating on the Greenwood Emerald's football, basketball, baseball and tennis teams. He went on to graduate from Furman University where he was a member of both the varsity basketball and tennis teams. Pat also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army on two tours of duty in Korea, achieving the rank of 1st Lieutenant.
Mr. Riddick retired as a Vice President of Nationsbank after a long banking career that began with Bankers Trust of S.C. He loved golf, especially the friendships he gained as a long-time member of Columbia Country Club. During the course of his lifetime, he made six holes-in-one and accomplished the feat of achieving par at Amen's Corner at Augusta National.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and will be remembered for his love of family and friends, his simple and abiding faith, his love of sports and his sense of humor.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 52 years, Carolyn; son, Hank and his wife, Lynne; daughters, Lynn Harvin and husband, Lee, and Peggy Riddick; grandchildren, Kelly, Steven and Claire Harvin and Lindsey and Bryan Riddick; as well as a multitude of extended family and wonderful lifelong friends.
Memorials may be made to the Carolina Children's Home, First Presbyterian Church or to the charity of one's choice.

I am so sorry! I hope you find peace in the fact that Pat is no longer feeling bad and is rejoicing with old family and friends. Wonder if he will be playing a round of golf at 11:00 today? I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I know all of you have such great memories that will give you a wonderful peace. Debra and Marion Funderburk

Carolyn, Please accept our sympathy at the loss of your loved one. If my Mother could I know she would be right there with you and your family. She loved as she called him "Patrick". She is over at Agape with dementia and unable to come or be a part of this. She worked with him a long from Bankers Trust to Nations Bank. Lot of water under the bridge since then. Please know that we will keep you and your family in our prayers and jist to say how sorry we are of his passing. May God bless you all.
Love
