Peggy Gregg Obituary

Peggy Mueller Gregg GREENWOOD - Peggy Kilpatrick Mueller Gregg, 82, of 204 Sheffield Road, wife of William C. "Bill" Gregg, died Thursday, March 7, 2013, at her home. Born in Forest City, NC, she was a daughter of the late Z. Harry and Mary Massey Kilpatrick. She was a 1949 graduate of Parker High School and was a cosmetologist. Peggy grew up in the Dunean Community of Greenville and taught in Abbeville for five years and at the Greenwood Vocational Rehabilitation Center for twenty years. She was a member of the Greenwood Country Club, the Halcyon Study Club, the Greenwood Woman's Club, the Holly Garden Club, the Greenwood Chorale and the D.A.R. She participated in the Reach to Recovery Program and was a founding member of Greenwood's Relay for Life, through the American Cancer Society. Peggy was an active member and former elder of First Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the chancel choir for 42 years, was a member of the John Knox Sunday School Class and the Peggy Gregg Circle #6. Surviving are her husband of the home; her daughter, Mary Katherine Mueller (Kim) of Anderson; her son, Karl Kilpatrick "Pat" Mueller (Suzanne) of Columbia; stepchildren, Amy Humphries (David) of Jefferson City, TN, Joel Gregg of England, Malcolm Mueller of Myrtle Beach, and Cary Mueller of West Virginia; a brother, Don Kilpatrick (Nita) of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren, Grisham, Hudson and Beckett Orcutt; stepgrandchildren, John and Sarah Humphries, Rachael and Griffin Bates; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Orrin E. "Moose" Mueller, and a stepson, Orrin E. Mueller, Jr. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. A celebration of life will follow at 3:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. John Bacot and Dr. Chuck Moates officiating. Pallbearers will be Danny Byars, Mack Baltzegar, Ralph Bozard, Buster Brooks, Francis Hammer and Toodle Robinson. Honorary escort will be Betty Robinson, Roy Hall, Virginia Shirley, Joyce Bearden and Doris Richardson. The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, PO Box 426, Greenwood, SC 29648 or Hospice House, 408 W.
