He is survived by his wife, Joan Raynor Binns of 51 years; his children, Karen (Tim) Brown of Shelby, NC, Rick (Cheryl) Binns, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Davida (Jim) Blevins of Lexington, SC; eight grandchildren: Cody, Jake and Landon Brown; Davi (Matt) Hudson, Alex, Anderson, Anna-Marie and Avery Blevins; one great-grandchild, Reagan Hudson; a stepsister, Myra Brooks of Edenton, NC, and a stepbrother, Russell Snider, of Beach Island, SC. Rick was predeceased by his mother, Vivian Emma Snider; stepbrothers, John, Clarence, and Ross Snider; stepsisters, Clara Meares and Julia Coverdale.
The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Christopher Marshall, Carolina Pulmonary staff, Dr. William Crigler for their long and dedicated care, and to the Agape SeniorCare Hospice, West Columbia, SC, for their compassionate, loving care.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2012, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel, with interment in Bush River Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home chapel.
