Robert Shields Obituary

Robert Arthur Shields "Bob" IRMO Robert Arthur "Bob" Shields, 59, went to heaven on December 28, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born July 19, 1959, in Charleston SC. to Iver Hersey and Arthur Emmett Shields. He is survived by his wife, Renee' Ellisor Shields, son, Kevin and daughter, Gena. He is also survived by his sister Michelle Wenz (Ed) of Charleston, SC, brother, James Daw (Robben) of Mascoutah, IL, sister Sheryl Shields Bailey, Summerville, SC, Sister-in-law, Sandy Ellisor of Irmo, SC, and Mother-in-law, Janice C. Ellisor Irmo SC, In addition, he is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at St. Jacobs Lutheran Church, 844 Columbia Avenue, Chapin SC on Wednesday, January 2, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St Jacobs Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St Jacob's Lutheran Women and also to St. Jacob's Lutheran Men's groups. My prayers are with the Shields family at this time and always. My memories of Bob are from working with him for over 22 years at WLTX. He was one of the best Sports Directors I've known and worked with. Bob always had a beautiful smile on his face that would make even the most difficult days bearable. Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.

I would see Bob every so often at the gym. We had great talks, and he always remembered that I am a Penn State alumnus/fan. His professionalism was unequaled, and will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace, and may lgith perpetual shine upon him.
