Robert Walden Obituary
Born in Bishopville, he was a son of Robert Dellinger Walden, Sr. and Frances Payne Walden. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and was a member of Chi Psi fraternity. He was employed with Colonial Packaging of Sumter and Columbia and enjoyed spending his free time sailing with his family.
Survivors, besides his wife and parents, include a daughter, Mary Ashley Walden; a son, Robert Andrew Walden; three sisters, Donna Walden, Emily Stuckey (Brooks), and Beth Kirkland (Ken); a brother, Timothy Walden (Cary); two brothers-in-law, Warren “Wally” Lee and Timothy Lee (Laurie); his mother-in-law, Mary Lucia Lee; his grandmother-in-law, Mary Lee Elmore; one niece; and seven nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gordon Timmons and Timothy L. Lee officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home and other times at the home, 113 Baskin Ave., Bishopville, or 960 Egypt Road, Camden.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

I read The State newspaper on line everyday and saw where Robert had passed away. Please know that you and the family have been in my thoughts and prayers. (In case you are wondering who I am...We met in Siler City. It was many years ago but Robert was a good friend to me when we were there.)

Dear Waldens and Lees, I am so sorry about Robert’s passing…I can only imagine what shock and sense of loss you must be feeling. Please know we’re thinking of you and send our deepest sympathies. My dad was in Atlanta at the time, but sends his thoughts and prayers, and will see Mr. Bob and Mrs. Frances at church soon to express his sympathy to them in person.

Dear Mrs. Walden & family,
My deepest sympathy at the loss of your husband. My thoughts are with you at this time and you and your family are in my prayers. You will always be Christa's favorite teacher. Others could not compare to you in Christa's eyes. When you were her 5k teacher she got really mad when she was unable to go to school.
