Ms. Sarah and family are in my prayers and have my deepest sympathy. Russell used to babysit our son, Omare', and was always excited to hear of the good things our son would do on the court in his basketball games. Our son is 11 years old now. Russell was always smiling and asking about my Uncle Diddy who he used to play basketball with in the Saxon Homes neighborhood and in high school. He was just the warmest and nicest person who you would ever want to meet and would give you the shirt off his back if he could. He will be truly missed and I do know he is in God's hands and is still smiling. Sleep on brother Russell and we will see you again. From Reginald, Sharon, Kailah, and Omare'....The Jenkins Family.

Ms. Sarah and family, You have my deepest sympathy regarding the loss of Rusty (Russell). He had a warm gentle spirit and it was always great to run into him on the streets of Columbia. We sort of lost track over the last two decades as my visits to Columbia curtailed a bit. We had been friends all the way back to our old Ward One community. We even worked the Carolina-Clemson game of 1969, selling cokes, hot dogs and peanuts. That was very exciting for the both of us. I will miss him. Unfortunately, I didn't come home for Christmas this year. If I had I could morn with you all in person. However you all know my heart is there with you. I was proud to call Rusty my friend.
