Stacie Benton Obituary
Stacie was born on April 10, 1954 in Charleston, SC, a daughter of Milton Asbury (Mac) Carson, Sr. and Florence Hughes Carson. She was an elementary teacher for 25 years with the Charleston County School District.
She is survived by her mother, Florence; two daughters: Lauren Carson and Christin Mims; granddaughter: Chloe Carson Norwood; siblings: Edie Elizabeth Carson, Milton Carson, Jr. and Brenda Howell (Jeremy); nieces and nephews: Milton A. Carson, III, Craig Sineath, Jr., Chelsea Sineath, Katie Sineath and Clayton Carson. She was preceded in death by her father, Mac Carson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Beacon Hospice, 786-C Johnnie Dodds Blvd., Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464 or the American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston, SC 29406.

Dear Christin and Family,
I cannot express the pain I feel for the loss of Stacie. We were friends for many years, and the love always remained in my heart for you. You and Lauren have grown to be beautiful women who made your Mother and Father proud. Cling to the beautiful memories as I do. Believe it, time does help with the aching heart. I buried both my Mother and Daddy last year, so I know. Be close and loving sisters. You are so lucky to have each other and such a loving family.

I'm so sorry to hear of Ms. Benton's passing. She taught my boys at Burn's elementary and would be thrilled to know my oldest is now in college. Thank you Stacey, we love you. Kelley, Sabastian, Michael Briana (and Patrick - you never met him).

She was my daughter's kindergarten teacher at AC Corcoran 7years ago, we always, always talked and joke during the years my daughter went there. She will truely be missed. I worked with Stacie at Burns El. I will always remember her quick wit and gusto for life. I am glad I was able to know her and have her for a friend. My prayers and thoughts will be with her family as you go through the process of saying good-bye.

I had the pleasure of working with Stacie at AC Corcoran when I was the school Occupational Therapist. She had a dynamic personality and was such an advocate for any child in her class that might need a little extra help. So sorry to hear of her passing.

Stacie left me her kindergarten classroom at Burns Elementary many years ago. I was so very grateful of her generosity in the items she left for me to use with those babies. I loved working with her there and will always remember her as a joyful spirit. The children in her class loved her and she gave all she had to those in her care. I hope you will find comfort in the memories and stories of her life and may you find peace in the love of family and friends during this most difficult time.
