Stephen Sacko Obituary

Stephen Sacko
February 4, 1955 - November 22, 2021
Blythewood, South Carolina - Stephen Anthony Sacko, 66, of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away at his home on November 22, 2021. Nancy Sacko, his wife of 42 years, was by his side.
"Steve" was born February 4, 1955, in Chester, Pennsylvania, to Albert and Amelia Sacko. He graduated from Chichester High School in 1973 and attended college at West Chester State College where he received a Bachelor of Science in Music Education in 1977. Steve played trombone and euphonium and was a member of numerous symphonic bands and wind ensembles, including the Golden Rams Marching Band.
Steve began his career as an instrumental music director at Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua, New York. Later, over a 25+ year career as a salesman, he was employed by General Electric, PMSC, SAP, Sapient, and Siemens. Throughout his career in sales, he lived with his family in Willington, Connecticut and Blythewood, South Carolina. With a playful wit, he enjoyed camping, hunting, and time with his family.
Steve is survived by his wife Nancy; sons, Ryan (Ali) and Keegan (Katie); grandson, Becker; and brother, Al (Leslie). He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Amelia Sacko and sister, Helena Ess.
A celebration of life will be planned in early spring with announcements to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial donations be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (https://www.nationalmssociety.org/Donate).

I saw notice of Stephen's
death in the WCU magazine.
I graduated from Downingtown Senior High School and later WCU. Mr. Sacko was one of the best student teacher's I ever encountered and a very kind person. I baked a cake for him for his last day.
I am very sorry for your loss.

Nancy, I just learned of Steve's passing and I am very sorry for your loss. It was an honor to work with you and Steve at Greeley during what seems a lifetime ago. Steve's commitment to his craft was visible in the devotion his students had to him and their music. I extend my condolences to you and your family.

We send our prayers and thoughts to all of you. We remember so many memories of the Galaxy games, soccer tournaments and team gatherings with all of you. Steve was always there to make everything happen. May God watch over you all.

Steve was one of the best. We spent many days on the road together visiting clients and servicing accounts. Although traveling wasn't my favorite thing to do, he always made my time away from home much more interesting and enjoyable than if I had been out there by myself. My deepest sympathies go out to Nancy and his boys, Ryan and Keegan. Steve was always so proud of his family and he was always eager to tell me of their activities and accomplishments. I will miss him terribly.
