Steven Owen Obituary

Steven Michael Owen, 59, of Gilbert, South Carolina died on April 4, 2025. Born in Chicago, IL to Ruth Rothgieb Owen and Glenn Owen. In his teens his family moved to Waukesha, WI. He was a 1983 graduate of Waukesha North High School. In his 20's his family moved to Columbia, South Carolina. Steve was a 15-year employee of Sunbird Boat Manufacturing Co. He also worked for a few months with Sea Hunt Boat Co. His last employment was with Magna Signs Int. Steve was an avid hunter; he loved nature and animals.

He is survived by his wife Erin Stone Owen of Gilbert, SC, his stepson Nicholas Stone of Gilbert, SC, his sister Cheryl Sontheimer (Rick) of Irmo, SC and sister Caryl Jourden (Randy) of Duncanville, TX. He was preceded in death by both parents, several cousins and uncle.

A memorial and celebration of life will be held on Sunday April 27th, 2025, at Redbank Baptist Church in Lexington, SC @ 2:30 p.m.

Erin, Rita and I are heartbroken over Steven's death. He and his family were great neighbors and we were very sorry to lose them. Unfortunately, we are traveling and won't be able to attend his service this Sunday. Our thoughts and prayers are with your and Steven's families in this sad time.
