Mr. Morrow, husband of the late Janie Ray White Morrow, died February 21, 2011. Born April 4, 1922, in Hamlet, N.C., he was a son of the late Dr. Thomas Lacy Morrow and Ethel Kilroy Morrow. An Army Air Corps veteran, he served as a first lieutenant in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. He earned a degree in Ceramic Engineering from N.C. State in 1948 and was a member of Sigma Pi. He was married in 1946 and moved to Columbia in 1949. As vice president of Hoffman and Hoffman, Inc., he promoted the advancement of heating, air conditioning and ventilation, retiring in 1990.
Surviving are his sons, Vance A. Morrow Jr. (Margo) of Westminster, Md., Douglas M. Morrow (Pam) of Columbia; daughters, Dorothy Morrow Hanson of Savannah, Ga., Barbara "Bobbie" Morrow of Bluffton; sister, Martha Elwynn Morrow of Seneca, S.C.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was predeceased by a brother, Dr. Thomas Lacy Morrow Jr.

My wife and I extend to the Morrow family our condolences over your loss. We knew Mr. Morrow as neighbors for the last few years. It became quickly apparent to us during our chats with him that he was a man of character, integrity, and intellect. We will miss him.
