Wayne Magisano Obituary
Born Jan. 23, 1966, he was the son of Joseph and Gayle Magisano of Eagle Bridge, N.Y. He graduated in 1985 from Hoosick Falls Central School. While in school he was involved in all forms of sports and honored for having scored over 1000 points while on the varsity basketball team. He was a die-hard Yankee fan.
In addition to his wife, son and parents, he is also survived by his brother, Michael of St. Petersburg, Fla.; his maternal grandparents, Wesley and Helen Brownell of West Hoosick; Dianne’s parents, David and Alice Towne of Hoosick Falls; his in-laws, Leo and Debbie Guerin of Hoosick Falls and David and Susan Towne of North Pole, Alaska. Also his Godson Philip Lanoue IV; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nephews, friends and four dogs that he greatly enjoyed.
When he wasn’t busy operating his heating service and repair business, MagWay, he enjoyed fishing trips to Alaska and snowmobiling with his son, Josh. Wayne was an avid bowler and passionate supporter of the HFCS Bowling Team by providing free practice and coaching for the team each Saturday at the Barbecue Recreation. Wayne also provided funding for several bowlers to attend the Dick Ritger bowling camp.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Joshua Magisano Scholarship Fund in care of The Bank of Bennington, 155 North Street Bennington, VT, 05201, or to the HFCS Bowling Team in care of Bob Lang at PO Box 192, Hoosick Falls, NY 12090.
Friends may call between be 2 to 6 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, at Robson-Reinfurt Funeral Home on 72 Main Street in Hoosick Falls. The Rev. Dale Hall will perform a service at 5:30 p.m. A gathering of family and friends will take place immediately following the service at the Hoosick Baptist Church on South Street in Hoosick.

Although I did not know Wayne very well as an adult, I knew him as a child. I used to babysit for Wayne and Michael during my teenage years. Even at that age, I saw the Magisano's as the wholesome perfect family. I admired Joe and Gayle and just thought they were the greatest (I still do). On Saturday when I attempted to go to the wake, and saw the long line of people going down both sides of the street, I knew their son had made an impact on many lives in the area. My deepest condolences to all of you. My prayers are with you, wishing you strength to face the days ahead.

Wayne will be missed greatly. As our burner man, he was always there,even when it was cold and dark. He was always kind when he came. We've known Wayne since we were kids. Greg played football and was amazed at Wayne's natural athletic ability in any sport he played. He was a good friend and will be missed. Josh, you are his living legacy and it sounds like you have already made him proud. You are a fine young man. Diane, our prayers will continue to hold you up. We are so sorry and shocked to hear about Wayne's death. He was here only a few days prior telling me about his snowmobile and that he had hoped to use it with the approaching storm. I tried to interest him in giving my daughter's r/c car a go around the basement, but he was happy just to watch it. We never ran out of things to talk about. My deepest condolences for your loss. In my eyes, Wayne was larger than life, especially during the '84' season. Fortunately, years later, Wayne and I became friends off the court. I vividly recall Wayne beaming with pride whenever Josh entered the room. Josh was intelligent beyond his years, and Wayne and I looked down at him with amazement. Wayne and I gave Josh some old basketball cards to place in protective plastic (Howie is still looking for the cards). I'm glad I stole them!! Wayne was a natural at everthing he did, especially accepting and loving Josh. Wayne moved on, and I'm certain he'll be a natural there as well. We'll miss you. And to Diane, Josh and family, many prayers will be sent out tonight, and I'm certain they'll be answered. God Bless You.
