Willard Goad Obituary

Willard "Will" James Goad CHARLESTON - Willard James Goad passed away December 7, 2016, in NHC Charleston, surrounded by his family. He was born June 13, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio, a son of Claude Willard and Ella Frances Goad. After attending Campbell County High School in Alexandria, Kentucky, Will enlisted in the United States Army in 1963, serving tours of duty in Germany, Korea and Vietnam. After leaving the army, Will attended the University of South Carolina, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1986. Will retired in 2006 after a long career as an accountant. In addition to his parents, Will was predeceased by his sister, Betty Greene. He is survived by two sons, Willard James II (Kristin) of Charleston, and Benjamin Eric (Rhonda) of LaPlata, Maryland; two daughters, Donna Glassman(Steven) of Florence, and Wylena Goad of Columbia; seven grandsons, Justin Conroy of Columbia, Drew Conroy (Erin) of Chapin, Connor Russell of Charleston, Keaton Robeson of Florence, Joshua Goad of Columbia, Brandon Goad and Stevie Glassman; four granddaughters, Alexandria Goad of West Columbia, Katarina Glassman of Florence, Shannon Goad of Charleston, and Brianna Glassman of Florence; one great-granddaughter, Kingsley Conroy; brother, Ron Goad(Meg) of Seattle, Washington; three nephews, Chris Greene of Kentucky, Gary Greene of Kentucky, and Aaron Goad of Colorado; and one niece, Whitney Vallum (Mark) of Seattle, Washington. Graveside interment will be on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, in Fort Jackson National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
