William Blake Obituary

William Blake Sr. COLUMBIA - William Blake Sr. was born September 6, 1939, in Georgetown, SC, to the late Jessie May and George Sherman. He passed away February 17, 2017. He was also predeceased by his wife, Eleanor Marie Blake. William graduated from Howard High School in Georgetown County and went on to attend Benedict College and the University of South Carolina, Columbia. He was employed for many years as an agent for North Carolina Mutual Insurance Company, the University of South Carolina and retired from Wackenhut Security Services as a Security Officer. He is survived by his children: William Blake, Jr., Angelita Blake, Dr. Tammy Diane Davis and Timothy Anderson; his friend and love, Pamela Marie Brown; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will continue to cherish special memories of their times shared together. The homegoing service will be held Friday, February 24, 2017, 1:00 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, 5715 Koon Road, Columbia, with burial in Serenity Memorial Gardens. Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home, 2930 Colonial Drive, has been entrusted with the arrangements. Condolences and flowers may be sent by visiting www.bosticktompkinsinc.com.
