William Davis Obituary

GASTON - A funeral service for William Allen Davis, 72, of Gaston, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 3, 2011, at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North with Dr. Larry Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Gaston First Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Davis was born in Tallassee, Alabama, a son of the late Kelcy C. and Florence Stewart Haun. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a retired commercial construction worker. He was a member of Carolina Masonic Lodge #375 in Hanahan.

Survivors include his wife, Ora Lee Pound Davis of the home; a sister, Joanna (Keith) Chandler of Greenville; two brothers: David (Lynda) Haun of Hanahan, and John Haun of Columbia; a number of nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Samantha Moore; and his first wife, Virginia Sharpe Davis.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North (www.mcalhanyfh.com) and other times at the home, 119 Ashby Drive, Gaston.

Memorials may be made to the SPCA or the American Heart Association.

I was very sorry to hear of Allen's passing. He was such a sweet,kind and considerate human being. Always had a smile.
Ora Lee was the love of his life.He cherished her in so many ways. My prayers are with Ora Lee. We all had some very happy times. Allen will always have a soft spot in my heart.
