Winfred Stockman Obituary

PROSPERITY - Winfred Elizabeth Shealy Stockman, 85, died Saturday, October 4, 2008.

Mrs. Stockman was born March 26, 1923, in McCormick. She was the daughter of the late Michael Clifton and Spencer Carter Shealy. She had retired from General Electric. Mrs. Stockman was a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church, a member and former vice president of the Goldies, a member of the Golden Agers, Macedonia Jolly Rollers Camping Club and the Petrea Circle. She was an organist for over 60 years having played for many churches in the community. She was a member of the Fun Seekers Camping Club, the Good Sam’s Camping Club, the Newberry Roadrunners Travel Club, a member of the Prosperity Garden Club and the Little Mountain Ruritan Club.

Surviving are husband, Hubert Stockman; a daughter, Linda Kaye Felker of Prosperity; sisters, Joyce Paden of Fair Play and Maxine Thompson of Marietta, GA; granddaughters, Melinda Edelmayer and Beth Scuderi, both of Orlando, FL; great-grandchildren, Brandi Gower, Joshua Edelmayer, Zachary Scuderi, Madison Chapman, Hannah Scuderi and Emma Scuderi.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 6, 2008, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Randall Derrick. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-5 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Macedonia Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 49, Macedonia Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.
