May 21, 1948 - December 16, 2021
Swansea, South Carolina - Yates Wayne Long, 73, of Swansea, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021 in Columbia. Born in Gastonia, he was the son of the late Yates C. Long and Martha Elizabeth Strange Long. He enjoyed telling stories, making people laugh, and spending time with his family.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas Fish and sister-in-law, Barbara Fish; sister, Avis Tidwell and brother-in-law, Terry Tidwell; nephews, Marc Meddaugh and Greg Tidwell; niece, Sharon Jarrard; and great niece, Jennifer Stanfield.
Wayne is survived by his nephew, Johnny Fish; nieces, Cindy (Ken) Skipper, Sherry Stanfield, Tammy Meddaugh, Donna Fish Hellerman; as well as many great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Hollywood Cemetery in Gastonia, North Carolina.
