Albert Anderson, Jr. Obituary

Albert (Andy) Anderson, Jr., of Warwick, RI, formerly of Attleboro, MA, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022, at the age of 100, just shy of his 101th birthday. Beloved husband of 71 years to the love of his life and high school sweetheart, the late Helen C.
(Keane) Anderson. Son of the late Grace T. (Callahan), originally from Ireland, and Albert Anderson, who was born in Sweden. Loving father of John Matthew Anderson and his wife Nancy of Galveston, TX, Nancy Anderson Barrington and her husband Dale
of Wakefield, RI, Katherine Hoftun and her husband Jan of Portsmouth, RI, William Anderson and his wife Nancy of North Attleboro, MA, Elizabeth Anderson and her husband Jack Kirby of Warwick, RI, and Melinda Anderson-Perry and the late Timothy Perry of Satellite Beach, FL. He was predeceased by his brother Kenneth Anderson of Attleboro, brother Donald Anderson of North Attleboro, and sister Mildred (Paddy) Anderson Piper of North Attleboro. He was the proud grandfather of 8 and great-grandfather of 19, and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Albert was born in Attleboro and attended Attleboro High School. He served during
WWII in the United States Navy as a radioman, rank of Communications Technician First Class, from 1942 to 1948. He did his basic training in Newport and then served at various USN RAD locations, including in Chatham, MA, Greenland, Winter Harbor, ME, and Wahiawa, Oahu, HI. Andy was employed as an engraver with Larson Tool & Stamping Co., at St. Regis Papermill, and then with Lamberts in Attleboro. He worked briefly for Bliss Brother's Dairy in the 1950's. Albert loved children and animals. After retirement, he loved to walk daily with his favorite four-legged companion Bo (AKA Bilbo Baggins). He was very artistic and loved to write poetry. He liked to do the daily crossword puzzle; his doodles and caricatures on the crossword pages were truly collectors' items!
