Charles Chisholm Obituary

Charles Edward Chisholm, 76, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at Attleboro HealthCare in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of the late Pauline F. (Madden) Chisholm.
Born on May 14, 1946, in Brockton, MA, he was the son of the late Henry Chisholm and the late Ellen E. (Moss) (Villeneuve) Chisholm.
Raised and educated in Foxborough, MA, he was a graduate of Foxborough High School, Class of 1965, He proudly and honorably served our country in the United States Army from 1967 until 1968, serving as a Specialist 5 paymaster to troops in the outlying base at Bear Camp in Pleiku, He served with the 9th Infantry Division where he saw a performance by the USO's legendary Bob Hope. He was awarded the ARCOM, the National Defense Ribbon, the Vietnam Service Ribbon, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
He received his Associate degree in Business Management from Johnson and Wales University, and a graduate of the Bristol Community College Plant Management program. Charles was a member of the J.W. Silver Key Honor Society, a member of the National Institute of Real Estate Brokers. He retired from Leach and Gardner in Attleboro. He continued to work after his retirement on a part-time basis for the Sun Chronicle newspaper.
He donated his time and efforts at the Rev. Larson Senior Center and at Capron Park, both in Attleboro, and would drive his older neighbors to stores. Charlie would have loved to have children, but that was not to be. He immersed himself in the Bible and would attend most of Attleboro's local churches to learn and appreciate the differences in teaching the Bible.
Charlie was the dear brother of James Henry Chisholm and his late wife, Diane, formerly of Duxbury, MA; Herbert Lawrence Chisholm and his wife, Carol, of Norton, MA; the late John Frederick Chisholm and his wife, Maureen; the late Elizabeth Ann Murray and her late husband, George; the late Gertrude Louise Harvey and her late husband, Raymond; the late Dorothy Mildred Chisholm; and the late Constance Lee Vaught and her late husband, Harry. He leaves his nieces and nephews: Mark, Heather and Christine, as well as many other nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly. A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at a later date at St. Stephens Cemetery in Attleboro, In lieu of flowers and as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in memory of Charlie to the Aphasia, Dementia, or Alzheimer's foundations.
