Diane Cooper Obituary

NORTH ATTLEBORO - Diane Alice (Girard) Cooper, 90, of North Attleboro passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. She was the wife of the late John A. Cooper Sr.
Born on October 13, 1931, in Seekonk, MA, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Amy (Legare) Girard. Except for her very early years in Pawtucket, RI and few years in Plainville, MA, she was raised in and lived in North Attleboro for over 75 years, graduating from North Attleboro High School and attending Tabbot-Hubbard Business School and Bristol Community College.
Diane was an Account Administrator and through the years worked in the accounting departments and front offices of Whiting and Davis Co., Atco Plastics, Inc., Raytheon Co., G.E. Datel, Inc., and L.G. Balfour Co. Together, she and her husband John created and ran Jack's Appliance, a General Electric major appliance distributorship for the area. She enjoyed trips to the waterfront, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son John Cooper Jr., his wife Debra, two granddaughters Sarah and Teyla Cooper and her sister Elise Newton of AZ. She was the sister of the late Caroline Mitchell, Ronald Girard, Conrad Girard and Theodore Girard.
At her request, there will be no viewing hours or services. Internment is private and will be held at a later date.
Arrangements entrusted to Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro, MA 02760.
