Gail A. (Worthington) Freeman, age 88, of Norton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, August 11, 2025 at the Morton Hospital in Taunton. She was the beloved wife of the late David A. Freeman, to whom she was wed for sixty-three years at the time of his death on February 1, 2020.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island on August 4, 1937, she was a loving daughter of the late Howard N. Worthington and Margaret (Nickson) Dalton.
Gail grew up in Pawtucket and was a 1955 graduate of the former Pawtucket West High School. She continued her education, receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Bristol Community College.
A resident of Norton for the past sixty-eight years, Mrs. Freeman had worked as a Registered Nurse for various hospitals and Hospice, prior to retiring. She was a dedicated homemaker to her adoring family, whom she loved dearly and enjoyed shopping, reading, crafts and cooking.
She is survived by her devoted children: Karen P. Freeman of Norton, twins Beth M. Plausse and her husband Rudy of Norton and Carla L. Filipe and her husband Victor of Norton and the late Deryl F. Bissonnette, who is survived by her husband Kim of Richmond, Rhode Island. She was the cherished grandmother of Dennis Freeman and his wife Monica, Jessica Fyfe, Heather Freeman, Andrea Falciano and her husband Tony, Lee Kenney, Remmic Cote, Nicole LeComte and her husband Rich, William Tootell and his fiancé Katherine Landis, the great grandmother of Connor, Ryan, Dimitri, Griffin, Logan, Tyler, Mariyah, Julianna, Ayvah, Madelyn, Kaileigh, Kaden, Roland, Gabriella and Luka and the great-great grandmother of Lainey. She was the dear sister of Deborah Gilleran and her husband Ronald of Florida, the late Patricia Mason, who is survived by her husband Albert of Pennsylvania and her late brother Robert Madigan. She was the much-loved sister-in-law of Bette Richmond of Norton and is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, August 23rd from 10:00 A.M.-12:00 Noon at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.
A graveside funeral service will follow on Saturday at 12:30 P.M. at the Norton Common Cemetery, 200 West Main Street (Route 123) Norton.
