George Shevchuk Obituary
George graduated from Attleboro High School and continued his education at Fitchburg State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in secondary education. George had an impressive basketball career with the Fitchburg State Falcons and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2014. He completed his studies at Northeastern University with a master's degree in counseling psychology. George worked as a guidance counselor for Westwood school district in Massachusetts, and was also a successful licensed real estate agent. George enjoyed spending time in Little Compton, Rhode Island, especially on the beaches. He also enjoyed fishing, boating, dining out and spending time with his devoted family.
He is survived by two daughters, Julie Griffin and her husband, Stephen, and Amy Kiser; five grandchildren Camden, Bryce, Jacklyn, Reese and Reagan and former spouse, Nancy (Neuman) Shevchuk.
A private graveside Service will be held at Newell Burying Ground in South Attleboro, MA. Visitation and floral tributes are respectfully omitted. Funeral arrangements are entrusted with WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, Pawtucket. TRIPPFUNERALHOME.com

My deepest sympathy to George's family: George
and I were close friends for many years, beginning in our sophomore year of high school.We had many wonderful times, especially playing basketball, going out to eat and dance with our wives Nancy and Jan, or spending time on cape cod. Sorry to say we lost touch just a few years ago. It's difficult to understand and emotionally process the loss of a close friend. George, may you rest in peace, but don't stop shooting baskets!
