Gregory Greene Obituary

Gregory N. Greene, 71, of Wrentham, MA, passed away on February 1, 2025, in the home that he built.

Born in Bangor, Maine on August 12, 1953, Greg was the son of the late John and Eleanor (Chamberlain) Greene. He grew up with his five siblings in various parts of New England before the family settled in Plainville, MA.

Greg attended King Philip High School, where he met his soulmate, Judy. They began their relationship in 10th grade and remained inseparable throughout their lives. Together, they raised two children in Wrentham, and Greg was a deeply involved and supportive father. He encouraged his children to explore their interests and pursue their goals, always being their biggest advocate. An accomplished athlete, Greg earned a spot in the King Philip Athletic Hall of Fame. He enjoyed staying active, coached many youth teams, and shared his love of sports with many children including his grandchildren. Spending time with his grandchildren was one of his greatest joys.

Known to many as "Mr. Greene," Greg was a dedicated elementary school teacher in Holliston, where he taught fourth grade and kindergarten for many years. Throughout his career, Greg made a lasting impact on his students, always prioritizing the children in his care. He was a fierce advocate for those without a voice and often stood up for his students' needs over administrative concerns. His passion for teaching and his commitment to his students made him a beloved figure in the community.

Greg will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his career, and the children whose lives he touched.

Greg is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Judy (MacLean) Greene, his loving children Zachary Greene and his wife Darcy Oikawa of San Rafael, CA and Jessie and her husband Jonathan Huot of Wrentham, MA. He was the cherished Pops to Hallie, Jack and Declan. Also survived by his siblings Thomas Greene and his wife Jackie, Stephen Greene, Catherine Greene, his sister-in- law Loretta Greene, his brother-in- law Mahmoud Barq, his sister-in-law Jeanne Conroy and her three daughters Rachael Morneau, Courtney Tornabene, and Lindsey Greene, and brother-in-law Jim MacLean, in addition to many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Greg was predeceased by his brother John Greene, his sister Myra Barq, and his life-long friend and brother-in-law Dan Conroy.

At this time services are private and under the care of the R.J. Ross Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
