John McIntyre Obituary

John Francis McIntyre, 81, of Sebastian, Florida, formerly of North Attleboro, MA, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his family and his personal faith. He was the beloved husband of Elinor Marie (Cirame) McIntyre to whom he was married on February 18, 1984.
Born in Boston, MA on July 4, 1939, he was the son of the late Patrick McIntyre and the late Mary Ellen (Byrne) McIntyre. He was raised by traditional Irish Catholic parents in Boston, MA and was a graduate of St. Columbkille High School in Brighton, MA. He received his master's degree from Cambridge College in Boston, MA.
Mr. McIntyre was a devout Catholic and a man of strong religious convictions. He was a communicant of the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish – St. Mark where he was an active member having served as a lector, Eucharistic minister, member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, brought communion to the homebound, was a co-facilitator with his wife, Elinor, of the Pro-Life Group, church fair volunteer, and daily communicant.
Since moving to Florida in 2019 from North Attleboro where he resided since 1984, he and his wife were communicants of St. Sebastian Catholic Church.
Mr. McIntyre was employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a children's service coordinator with the Department of Developmental Services for more than 20 years.
He was an ardent reader of history.
In addition to his wife of 37 years, he leaves three children: Tara Fannon and her husband, John Fannon, of Brooklyn, New York; Judith "Judy" Montella and her husband, Anthony Montella, of Sebastian, Florida; and Joseph Deveau and his wife, Barbara (Howe) Deveau of Littleton, NH, formerly of Lexington, MA; two grandchildren: Mathew Deveau of Lexington, MA and Ryan Deveau and his wife, Christine Deveau, of Norton, MA; his siblings: Maureen Madden of Foxboro, MA and twin brothers: Richard McIntyre of Milton, MA and Robert McIntyre of Scituate, MA; among his cousins, a very close cousin: John McIntyre of Milford, MA; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and fellow communicants.
He was the grandfather of the late Sean Kiely and was brother of the late Patrick McIntyre and William McIntyre.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Saturday, June 19, 2021, from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish – St. Mark, 105 Stanley Street, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA following visitation on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at 10:00 AM.

Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Towne Street, North Attleboro, MA.

John was a very wonderful man who tirelessly gave of himself! He was so kind and genuinely cared about others! He was a tremendous inspiration to myself and my husband Chris! Elinor, we are so sad for your great loss but believe he is in the arms of Blessed Mother and Our Lord Jesus Christ resting in eternal peace!
