Larry and I knew each other during our high school days at Boston English High.
And at least (2) memories stick in my mind...(1) Larry was a stickler and was passionate in his writing even then. And (2) he was a Boston English High football fan, and was on the cheerleader squad for at least one year.
May you rest in peace, "Kessler".

Larry was a genuinely nice human when I worked with him on the sports desk in West Palm. He was a misfit in Dixie, as were a number of us who fled back north. For one, he was worldly. For two, he knew nothing about NASCAR or college football. He listened to my stories about my mom's family on the run in Vichy France and commisserated in a Larry kinda way. Funny, I quit newspapers and did my pediatric residency in Providence and took care of Attleboro kids, unaware he had moved nearby. RIP Larry.

Dear Lynne, Ari and Alana,
So unbelievably sorry for your loss. Larry was that one in a million person. His intelligence, kindness, quirky sense of humor with twinkling eyes will live on in so many people's hearts that he touched, including mine. Please know I will be there for you whatever you need and whenever . Love, Sue Miles
