Michael J. "Doc" Dockray, Jr.

Michael J. Dockray, Jr. or (Doc), best known as Uncle Mikey, unexpectedly passed away at home on January 26, 2022. Michael was predeceased by his loving mother Susan Lynn Weber Christie Dockray and step dad Tony Caponigro. He leaves behind his father Michael Dockray, Sr., of Myrtle Beach, SC; his sister and best friend, Christine Dockray Drew; his loving nieces and nephews Kennedy, Richie, Christopher and Caroline Drew all from Myrtle Beach, SC. He leaves also behind Noelle Andrade and her children Nicholas and Logan of Attleboro; his aunt and uncle, David and Lisa Christie of E. Greenwich, RI; cousins Nicole, Cori, Taylor and Alex. Michael leaves behind Steven and Diane Dockray of Canton and cousins Alexandra, Cassandra, Steven, Patrick; aunt Nancy Johansen and cousins Christie, Catherine and Matthew. Michael also leaves step-sister Dominica Ribeiro and her husband Joe and their children, Sarah, Ella and Lucas. Michael was affectionately loved and has left so many friendships here.

Michael graduated from Attleboro High School and worked his entire life in construction. He owned his own company, Dockray Construction for a short time. He worked with Greg Caponigro Construction, Sousa Construction and Traditional Home Builders. He had a passion for building and remodeling, that had recently been reignited with Red House Design Build.

Michael also enjoyed bartending at The Backyard in Myrtle Beach and the Celtic in the past. Michael built all around Attleboro, Boston, Rhode Island, and Myrtle Beach. Michael liked to go on vacations, travel with his family, especially to Myrtle Beach, Cape Cod, Folly Beach and Charleston. He also enjoyed being the protector of his family and friends, playing pool, golfing, playing cards, listening to the rescue scanner, grilling out with his buddies, cooking breakfast and having a shot or two! Michael would do anything for anyone and will be missed dearly!

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Monday, February 7, 2022 from 8:30-9:30 AM at Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 AM at Holy Ghost Church, 71 Linden St., Attleboro. Burial will be private.

A Celebration of Life for Michael will also be held in Myrtle Beach at a later date.
