Patrick Cummings Obituary

Patrick R. Cummings, 63

Patrick R. Cummings, age 63, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen M. Martens, to whom he was wed for twenty-two years.

Born in Cambridge, MA on November 6, 1957, he was a loving son of the late John and Shirley (Browne) Cummings.

Pat grew up in Cambridge and was a graduate of Cambridge High School. He proudly served his country from 1978-1981 in the United States Army as a prestigious member of the 82nd Airborne Rangers. He was honorably discharged with the rank of SP4.

A resident of Mansfield for the past twenty-four years, Mr. Cummings was a retired Special Agent, having worked for over twenty years for Homeland Security (ICE).

Pat's treasured his family and dogs, whom he loved dearly and who always came first. He was a skilled carpenter who enjoyed building projects around his home and for friends and neighbors alike. He was the # 1 fan of the Montreal Canadians, enjoyed hanging out with the crew at Stefano's Pizza in Mansfield and for the past twenty-two years was a true friend of Bill W.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his devoted children: Jennifer R. Cannon of Chelsea and Liam P. Cummings of Mansfield. He was the dear brother of the late John Cummings and Joseph Cummings, and is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, April 1st from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.

A Funeral Liturgy of the Word with Final Commendation will be held on Friday, April 2nd at 10:00 A.M. in Saint Mary's Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial with military honors will follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery in Mansfield.

Pat was an awesome guy! I knew him from when I worked at Stefano's, and whenever I saw him out & about he always stopped to chat & catch up. He was such a genuine & caring guy. Praying for his family during this difficult time.
