Susan LeVine Obituary

Susan E. (Bromberg) LeVine, age 66, of Norton, passed away at her home peacefully on Friday, May 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. For 45 years, she was the loving wife of Vincent LeVine.

Susan was born and raised in Sharon, MA, the daughter of the late Irving and Gloria (Sherman) Bromberg.

Susan was the youngest of three children, eleven years younger than her sister and seven years younger than her brother. She and her sister shared a relationship that extended beyond being siblings.

Susan's family home was less than half a mile from Lake Massapoag, where she spent days basking in the sun and working on her tan. She also enjoyed riding her bicycle around the lake, and in her own words, she had "a great childhood." Her upbringing was responsible for her incredible smile and love of the beach.

Susan earned her Associate's Degree in Early Childhood at Fisher Junior College in 1979 and was an early childhood teacher for nearly a decade. After having her first of three children, she opened and ran a home daycare center in Norton for 12 years.

While running the daycare and raising three children, Susan went back to school. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Bridgewater State College in 1990 and her Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Literacy from Lesley University in 2001. Always eager to continue learning, Susan received her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (C.A.G.S.) in Educational Leadership from Bridgewater State University in 2017.

Susan spent the last 25 years working for Attleboro Public Schools, where her dedication and passion for students and their families left an indelible mark. As the Title I and K-12 Academic Support and Grant Coordinator, she was known for her focus on improving students' literacy skills and engaging families in their students' learning. She was well known by the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and was often called upon to present to colleagues across the state. She was always willing to answer questions related to state and federal grants. She was an active member of the CACE MA Title I Administrators, and during her tenure, she held executive roles as president and conference chair.

Susan cherished each day, always maintaining a positive attitude and incredible energy throughout her career, which co-workers said was highly contagious. She saw the good in everybody she met.

Susan's love for education extended outside of academia. For over twenty years, she was a fitness instructor at the Inn Fitness Club at the Taunton Holiday Inn, where she made lasting friendships while teaching aerobics, kickboxing, and Bodypump.

During the summer months, Susan enjoyed relaxing on Second Beach in Newport and walking the cliff walk with family and friends. She also loved going to Scusset Beach in Sagamore on Fridays with her lifelong friend Shellee and taking day trips to Plymouth with her husband to eat at her favorite restaurant, Cabby Shack.

Susan spent family vacations down the Cape in Mashpee, Falmouth, Chatham, and Dennis. She was an avid reader, sometimes finishing as many as five books in a week. Susan and her husband, Vinnie, went for daily walks in their neighborhood, and she was always the one setting the pace. Their son Dylan sometimes joined them and said he could never outwalk his mom.

Susan's favorite holiday was Thanksgiving, and she hosted it every year at her house in Norton with as many as 18 family members in attendance. There was nothing more important to her than family and friends.

Susan consistently made her way through the crowd at large gatherings, talking, smiling, and laughing. Her son Dylan and husband Vin once followed her around a wedding to see if she could go 10 seconds without laughing. She couldn't. Susan was a naturally happy person who smiled and laughed with everyone she met.

Vacationing in Italy was on her bucket list. In 2019, Susan and Vinnie celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in the Amalfi Coast and Rome, spending several days with their son Michael and daughter-in-law Sooyoung. Susan especially enjoyed the day trip to the Island of Capri.

Susan's radiance will live on in her grandson, Jasper, with whom she spent sunny days watering flowers and vegetables in her garden, and basking in the sunlight. Whenever he smiles, she'll be smiling. Whenever he laughs, she'll be laughing. Whenever he's happy, she'll be happy. Jasper will spend his life lighting up rooms with the charisma of his beautiful and loving Nanni.

Susan courageously battled both Ovarian and Breast Cancer for 13 years, and during that time, her family remained her biggest concern. Her family witnessed firsthand what it means to be a fighter and will forever carry Susan's strength, resilience, and love for life with them.

Besides her husband Vincent, Susan leaves her three sons, Michael LeVine and his wife Sooyoung of Brooklyn, NY, Nicholas LeVine of Fall River, Dylan LeVine and his wife Lexi of Norwood; a sister, Hilda Egel; a brother, Alan Bromberg, her grandson, Jasper LeVine; and three nieces, Jill, Stephanie, and Gigi.

To honor Susan's wishes, a celebration of her life will be held at their home on Sunday, June 8. Please feel free to reach out to Susan's family to obtain address and location details.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Susan's memory can be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute: P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284 or via dana-farber.org/gift.
