Thomas Mercier

1949 - 2024

Thomas Mercier, 75, of Attleboro passed away Sunday, October 27, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Paula J. (Semple) Mercier.

Born May 7, 1949 in Attleboro, MA he was the son of the late Armand and Yvonne (Mullaney) Mercier.

Thomas extended his education receiving a degree in computer programming from the Community College of Rhode Island. He was employed through the years for Arthur H. Nelson & Sons, Inc., Northrop Grumman, Texas Instruments, and Sensata Technologies. He proudly served for the U.S. Navy as a fireman on the USS Saratoga.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening, tending to his fruit trees, and spending time in New Hampshire and Sanibel Island. He truly enjoyed the times spent with his loving family, his cherished grandchildren, and close friends.

In addition to his wife Paula, he is survived by two daughters, Abbey and husband Timothy Neveu of Attleboro; Emma and husband Peter (PJ) Hamill also of Attleboro; four grandchildren, Parker, Austin, and Stella Neveu and Peter Hamill; a brother, Michael Mercier and wife Dorothy of Attleboro; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Justin Mercier; a brother, Jody Mercier; and his in laws, Alan and Janice Semple.

Tom's family would like to thank Dr. Iqubal Dhaliwal and the staff at Hope Hospice for their outstanding care.

Following cremation, a memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, November 3rd from 12:00PM to 3:00PM. A memorial service will follow at 3:00PM with Military Honors to conclude. Burial will be private.
