Tommy Coleman Farr

Tommy Coleman Farr, 89, of Orangeburg, S.C., passed away on August 9, 2025. He was the husband of the late Carolyn Cook Farr.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Orangeburg, with Rev. Ryan Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 11 a.m., same day as the service, in the church sanctuary. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Ben Hare, Dr. Bob Varn, Eddie Lee, Mike Wolfe, Bax Culler, Tripp Love, Kyle Williams, and Howie Love.

Tommy was born in Nashville, N.C., a son of the late Thomas Jefferson Farr and Helen Knight Farr. He was a graduate of Orangeburg High School and retired from the Orangeburg-Calhoun Vocational School. Tommy was an active member of the Elks Lodge where he was a former Exalted Ruler and a life long member of First Baptist Church of Orangeburg. He loved spending time in the yard and garden, hunting, fishing, and spending time at the beach. Tommy loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughter, Terry Farr Dempsey (Ronny); son, Coleman Farr (Angie); grandchildren, Parker Dempsey (Nacole), Adrianne Arant (Brent), Carol Lyn Weaver (David), Madelyn Harrell (Robert), and Megan Rome (Ethan); and great-grandchildren, Coker Dempsey, Annie J. Dempsey, Layla Dempsey, Micah Harrell, Rosalyn Harrell, Evalee Rome, and Lawton Rome.
