About 12 years ago, Tony walked into my place of business in Alton and said something really smart-alecky, I don't remember what exactly. I shot one right back at him. I'd never even seen him before.
It was an instant rapport. He reminded me so, so much of my grandpa, who was Polish. His appearance, accent and attitude, just an amazing likeness. We chatted for quite awhile. I never forgot that day because Tony was so much fun.
My grandfather's name was Emil. He passed away Nov 19, 1999. I'm sure they have already met in heaven and traded jokes. Rest in peace, Tony.
