Anthony Tolbert Obituary
ANTHONY TOLBERT
ALTON — Anthony "Tony" Tolbert, 51, departed this life on Friday, Dec. 9, 2016 at his home. He was born on Oct. 18, 1965, in Alton, Illinois. He was the son of the late John and Alice (Skinner) Tolbert.
Tony entered the Army in 1989 and deployed for Operation Desert Shield in Saudi Arabia on Sept. 18, 1990, where he served as a helicopter specialist. He was honorably discharged in 1991. Tony was later employed at McDonnel Douglas (Boeing) where he worked by his father's side. He enjoyed attending football games as well as videotaping his nephew's games.
On Friday, Dec. 9, 2016, Tony made his transition at 2:30 p.m. at home surrounded by his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Angela.
He leaves to embrace precious and lasting memories with his siblings: Cathy Tolbert, Sharon (Paul) Willis, John Jr., Richard and Ronald (Becky) Tolbert and Lori Ann Brown, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, at 9 until time of service at 11 a.m. at Cathy M. Williams & Sons Funeral Home in Alton.
Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery in Alton.
