GRANITE CITY — Arthur E. "Gene" Cox, 90, died at his home Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018. Gene was born on Jan. 26, 1927, in Granite City. Private services will be held on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018. He will be laid to rest at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis with full military honors.. Memorial contributions can be made to Granite City Sports Hall of Fame. Irwin Chapel of Granite City is in charge of arrangements. www.irwinchapel.com.

We visited with Gene every other year on our way home from Florida

So sorry for your loss. I am wondering if "Gene" worked for the railroad years ago. My father worked for Terminal RR and City RR and had a friend named Gene Cox who I remember well. My father would have turned 90 in January.
