Worden - Barbara Deck was born October 1, 1955 and passed away December 16, 2023.
She is survived by her devoted husband Art Deck and her loving children Mandy (Rick) Skiff and Sarah (James) Mather. She had 3 wonderful grandchildren whom she loved, Grace Skiff, Richard Skiff, and Dakota Mather. She also loved her brother Tony (Stacey) Woodward; her best friend, who happened to be her sister-in-law Susie Deck; sisters-in-law, Paula (Dane) Walkington, Marianne (David) Boone, and Barbara (Terry) Hutslar; brother-in-law Howard Deck; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Charley Woodward; brother, Andy Woodward; brothers-in-law Rick and Gary Deck; and sister-in-law, Joyce Baker.
Barb graduated from Roxana High School and SIU-Edwardsville with a degree in accounting. After graduating she went on to earn her CPA license. She built from the ground up a successful accounting firm, Deck and Company, located in Glen Carbon, IL.
After Barb retired, she spent her time crafting and asking Art to make her crazy dreams a reality. Always keeping Art on his toes, she always had a new way to decorate a space. Barb loved being on the water, but her favorite was walking on the beach with Art, looking for seashells every step she took. She was always in the passenger seat ready to take a road trip to Richard's next fishing tournament, ready to spend the day in a new place and to support her grandson. Barb traveled to Florida frequently, going to her grandson, Dakota's, baseball games. While down there, she took granddaughter Grace on shopping sprees and to get their nails done, usually with Art carrying their bags and being their driver.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of services at 6:30 p.m. Friday December 22, 2023 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights. Memorials can be made to Shriners Hospital for Children. Online guestbook available at www.paynicfh.com
