Carlene Crawford Obituary

Carlene Crawford
Carlene Crawford, 85, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.
The daughter of Carl and Wilburtine (Hickman) Dickerson was born June 16, 1940, in Alton, Ill. She gave her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. John's Baptist Church under the Reverend T.P. Wright. Later in life she became a member at Trinity Lutheran Church.
She attended the Alton Public School System, graduating from Alton Senior High School in 1958.
Carlene was united in holy matrimony to Edward E. Crawford of Madison, Ill., on June 21, 1958. To this union four children were born, Cheryl A. Crawford, Bryant E. Crawford, Cynthia M. Crawford and Susan R. (John "Main") Caldwell.
She worked at Olin Corporation in the Primer Department, until her retirement.
Our dear mother was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Wilburtine Dickerson; a brother, Carl M. Dickerson; a son, Bryant E. Crawford and grandson, Donell Dion Morgan.
Mama's most precious memories will be cherished by her husband, Edward; her 12 grandchildren; a bountiful number of great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; her precious fur baby, Tootsie; and her beloved baby sister, Janet M. Westfall.
She also leaves to cherish her memories a host of relatives and friends who will miss her love of baking and music.
Visitation will convene Friday, October 17, 2025 from 9 to 11 a.m., at Greater Saint James Baptist Church. A private service and interment will follow. Services entrusted to Harrison Funeral Chapel and Cremation Center of Alton.
