CONSTANCE MESTER

WOOD RIVER — Constance Mester, 59, passed away 10:56 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019 in Alton Memorial Hospital.

Born Dec. 12, 1959 in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of Julie (Jaranilla) Baird of East Alton and the late Salvatore Governale.

She had been a licensed practical nurse. She dearly loved her four dogs.

Surviving in addition to her mother are daughters, Stephanie Thaxton, Tiffany Ford (Shane Osborne) all of Alton; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Sal Governale of Godfrey; sister, Suzie Fill of Godfrey; and very dear friend and father figure, Al.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Owls Club in Alton.

Marks Mortuary in Wood River is in charge of arrangements.
