Craig Morley Obituary

Craig S. Morley
Madison - Craig S. Morley, 67, of Madison, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois. He was born December 22, 1956, in Granite City, Illinois to Jimmie L. and Arlene R. (Bridick) Morley.
A man of the outdoors, Craig's passion for hunting was unmatched. His expertise spanned the forests and skies, as he pursued game with fur and feathers. A proud member of Ducks Unlimited and the Winchester Club, he found solace and joy in nature's embrace. Craig's love for fishing was a thread woven through the tapestry of his life. The serene waters of Bull Shoals Lake welcomed him each spring, while Norfolk Lake awaited his return in the fall. His annual pilgrimage to Crane Lake, at the edge of Minnesota and Canada, was a tradition spanning over two decades—a testament to his dedication to the rod and reel. On the field, Craig was known as "Mo" among his softball team, "The Crazy's." His playful spirit earned him the affectionate nickname of "Spanky," a name that echoed his jovial nature. His presence was a force of nature; he didn't just enter a room—he made an entrance with a strut that announced his arrival. Craig's laughter was a melody that resonated with a warmth that could light up any gathering. His humor drew people together, making his laughter a shared language of joy. As a son, he was caring; as a father, steadfast; as a grandfather, tender; and as a brother, unwavering. His absence leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit remains an indelible mark on the lives he touched.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his parents, Jim and Arlene Morley, of Collinsville, Illinois; his son, Jay M. Morley, of Edwardsville, Illinois; his grandchildren, Sophia Yvonne Morley and Lucas Dylan Morley; his sister, Cheryl (Donald) Einsporn; the mother of his son, Cindy Wells; the mother of his grandchildren, Lindsay Hargrave; and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions are appreciated to Craig's grandchildren's sports teams, the O'Fallon Bombers Organization, 12U Flores baseball team or the Edwardsville Field Hockey Program. Condolences may also be expressed online at www.irwinchapel.com.
